New teas report in 2011　　　　　　　　　　　

We almost finished to buy teas in 2011.
It is very difficult year for us because frighten earthwuake and Tsunami destroied so many things from Eastern Japan.
Fortunately, we do not have any damages, and anything were not destroied, and no food produces had radioactive contamination in Kyoto.
The quality of teas arevery good indeed.

But lower grade tea prices were to be expensive.
Because some of teas in Shizuoka prefectuer which is the biggest center of tea producing had influenced of radiation. And unfortunately, it happened financial damage caused by harmful rumours or misinformation at all of Shizuoka teas even it had not influences.

And many tea merchants have been looking for teas which were no influence of it.

Anyway, please do not worry, no radiations were found from tea which were produced in Kyoto.

The character of this years tea.

Sencha High grade Still good quality at this grade of teas.
Aroma is very sweet and very mild but rich taste.
It is include moderate bitterness.
Middle grade A little rich in bitter and astringent taste, and we feel delicate sweetness after glup down, and it is one of our ideal taste.
1200~1500JPY are in good condition, but lower are a little too better.
Low grade Moderate quality, but a little weak in total volume.
The taste is mild and tasty than last 2010, but I think more bitter and astringent taste is important for this grade of tea.
Gyokuro High grade Very good, especially they have rich aroma.
It has good balance of sweetness and bitterness, but color is a little too green.
Low grade Already began to mature, and mild and rich, I think this year's Gyokuro is moderate price for quality.
Matcha High grade Very good. They have rich aroma and deep taste constantly through the several year.
Middle grade Very good especially price 1675YEN/40g.
Low grade Averaged as same as 2010, but a little too light.
Bancha Kawayanagi High grade is very nice, but low are very expensive for the quality because safe teas are in seller's market.
Genmaicha Very good, but a little too sweet and mild than our ideal.
Houjicha
(roasted tea)		 In very good condition

The real Uji tea is still moderate prices than last year.
But low grade Sencha, and lower grade of Kawayanagi become too expensive for quality.
We saved to buy teas, and I will get another teas from spot market.
According to neclear plant accident, low grade tea which were produced in safe area were to be expensive. and I guess crazy market will continue for this several tears.
Medium to highe grade teas are no influences of market.
