===== INTRODUCING =====

KYOTO

HOUSEHOLD BUDDHIST ALTARS (Butsudan)
&
BUDDHIST RELIGIOUS OBJECTS (Butsugu)
@There are over 3,000 temples in Kyoto now. And the difference of Butsudan style according to denominations made large volume production difficult. Butsudan is synthetic handicraft requiring excellent skills in woodwork, metalwork, lacquering and many other kinds of techniques. Each items have to be hand-made through exacting division of labor. The existence of many head temples is an important factor in bringing the refined manufacturing techiques of Kyo-Butsudan and Kyo-Butsugu to a higher level.

ProductionProcess

@70% of the items produced in Kyoto now are for temple use and 30% are for househole use. 80% of Butsugu used in temples throughout Japan are made in Kyoto. Kyo-Butsudan and Kyo-Butsugu have been formally designated as traditional handicrafts by the Minister of International Trade and Industry.

@Butsudan may be obtained anytime and installed in any place. There are no good days or bad days for doing something worthwhile. Butsudan provides you a spiritual repose.
